Hello, I'm Julia and I am passionate about helping educators and parents to support their children's physical, mental and emotional health and well-being through workshops and training with adults and practical sessions with children.
Since graduating from the University of Warwick with a BAQTS in Science in 2001, I have had a varied teaching career, teaching in all year groups from nursery to year six in a wide variety of schools in Coventry, Birmingham and for a short while in Ecuador! I was previously a Senior Leader, having responsibility for Every Child Matters and receiving the Certificate of Professional Development in PSHE from Roehampton University.
I have practised yoga for most of my adult life and completed the British Wheel of Yoga Foundation 1 in 2009 and continued to Foundation 2 in 2010. Knowing how powerful yoga is at improving both mental and physical health, I trained with Rainbow Kids as a children and family yoga teacher in 2017, with the intention of bringing this wonderful tool to the lives of children and their families, I founded 'Little Earthlings Yoga', delivering sessions for families to connect with their children.
Now, I specialise in yoga in schools and children's mental health within education. I am currently working towards an Msc in mental health and wellbeing in education. I deliver a range of training courses to parents and educators around the subject of emotional, physical and mental health, where I combine my knowledge of the education system, the curriculum and child development with my understanding of yoga, mindfulness and strategies to improve mental health.
Please get in touch to discuss how I can help you improve the well-being of the children in your care.
